We managed to add two stickers to our map, Indiana & Michigan. That's four new states this trip so far. We hope to add Ohio and Kentucky to these before the end of the summer.
We decided to have a look around the park today. Attached to the campground is the Eden Springs Park at House of David. There is quite a bit of history associated with it. Here is a quote Bryan found about it.
"Eden Springs Park is a historic park that opened in 1908 by the House of David. Now a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the park for generations to come. Eden Springs Park was once famous for it's baseball team, zoo, mini cars, fountain, formal gardens and miniature trains. You can still ride the train through the park to enjoy the landscapes and see the restoration in progress."
This
LINK gives the history, and has some old pictures of the park before it deteriorated. There have been paranormal investigations here and there are videos on Youtube and Facebook of those.
This LINK gives a bit of history, some paranormal and a tour of the site.
The Engine House & Repair Shop where a lot of the paranormal activity has occurred. It was decorated for Memorial Day.
One of the cabins that are for rent.
We think this used to be the restaurant. The charity is gradually restoring the buildings and grounds.

There is a lot of work to be done still. Bryan said he wouldn't mind volunteering at a place like this because there are so many different things to be done.

The train track used to be a lot longer than the present circle. The train trestles and tracks are still there but not safe at the present time.

Quite an interesting walk around and we had a chat with the family next door when we got back.
We had just got in and the power went out, just when we needed the air conditioning to cool off!!! Next door had lost their power as well. After a few minutes they came and told us that their power was back on, as they had reset the breaker on the park electric connection at their site. When we looked at our power pole, part of our surge protector had melted. We have a portable surge protector that we plug in to the park connector and it tells us if there's a problem with the voltage at the pole and protects the motorhome from any surges. It had obviously done it's job and saved the electric in the motorhome from frying the appliances inside. We decided that the current wasn't strong enough to give us 50 amps and the adjoining camper 30amps off the same line, and when the guy the other side had reset his breaker it caused a surge that caused our surge protector to melt. We were ok as long as we didn't use the 50amp. We will probably need to get a new surge protector at some time but it is still working at the moment and as they are between $200 and $300 dollars we will get it when we can.
Needless to say we weren't happy. Bryan went to the office and the lady there told him they shouldn't have put a camper that needed electric next to us. Hmmm, just what we thought.
Thank goodness we leave tomorrow.
