September 28th - December 31st, 2018
We quickly got settled in to everyday life in Jacksonville, Florida again. It is the normal round of doctor, eye and dentist checkups. We were on a mission to get Bryan's left knee replaced while we're here, and we focused on that. I was also going to have to have cataract surgery. It will be a busy winter, but hey what else do we have to do!!!!

It's Ryan's birthday and Halloween is also around the corner. We went to Ryan & Christina's to help them celebrate.
First, carving pumpkins.
Then Birthday cake and singing the "song"

Ryan reenlisted for more time in the Navy and we got to go to the ceremony, which was very special.

Then, he reenlisted and was sworn in again.
He chose to have his ceremony in the memorial park here at NAS Jacksonville, by an F-8, an aircraft type that his grandfather had worked on during his Navy career. It was a poignant moment.
Bryan & I both got recognized for supporting his career with certificates.
Christina and Trystan also got certificates and recognition for their support. Family support is very important in the military and it is not always an easy life.
Finally, signing the paperwork for another 6 years.
I took Trystan for a little walk around the planes.
everyone congratulated Ryan
We went back to his workplace and had cake to celebrate, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
November 22nd, 2018 - Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was spent at Ryan & Christina's. Trystan was as smart as ever.

back to decorating and hanging his baubles.
I helped with an ornament that Ryan got for his first Christmas.
Admiring the finished product.
It was an awesome Thanksgiving Day and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We went to see Santa's arrival on base. He arrived in a Fire truck.
Trystan loved meeting him.
There was a small Christmas fair that we walked around.

December 24th, 2018 - Christmas Eve
Bryan has been going to physical therapy twice a week and is doing quite well. We were going to spend Christmas Day with Ryan, Christina & Trystan. They asked if we would like to stay Christmas Eve as well, so that we could be there when Trystan woke up and saw his presents. We really wanted to do that, but were concerned with Bryan climbing their stairs which are quite steep and there's a lot of them!! It was a last minute decision that we thought he would be ok, and if not we all agreed we could sleep on the blow up mattress downstairs. Before we left I took a picture of my Christmas table and decorations in the motorhome.
We helped Trystan put food out for the reindeer.

Someones ready, and excited for Santa to come.
But first, we watched Christmas movies including Polar Express.
We wore Papa out!!!!
Then it was time to decorate cookies for Santa.
After all that excitement we were all ready for bed and an early wake-up call!!!!
December 25th, 2018 - Christmas Day
I think I was awake before Trystan and waiting for him to come and get us. Bryan did manage the stairs so that was good.
Seeing his face when he saw the bike Santa had left, and all his presents was wonderful. Children really do make Christmas.

He got many fantastic presents. He's an extremely lucky little boy, and has lots of people who love him.
The "big" boy Ryan was happy with his present from Santa as well.

We finished opening presents, had breakfast, and then went out to watch Trystan ride his new bike. Naturally, he was a bit apprehensive at first but it wasn't long before he was riding along and we were trying to keep up with him.
