November 2020
It took some getting used to, no longer being camphosts after a year and realizing we were free to do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted to. Unfortunately Covid is still curtailing things quite a bit.

| Bryan learning to relax again. |
Election Day was November 3rd and I (Sue) did stay up until 3am watching the results come in. I found it very strange that polling stations suddenly decided to close for the night and they would resume counting the next morning. I don't ever recall that happening before but I could be wrong.
It was very close but Trump was closer to the number needed than Biden at that time. Overnight the votes turned, and Biden ended up winning although the result was not confirmed until several days later as counting continued. As we all know it was a contentious few days, but it is what it is and we need to carry on.
We spent a lot of time going to doctor appointments for annual checkups. We have more scheduled, so we will stay in Jacksonville until the end of January.
Bryan's hand is still not healed properly from his surgery and it is frustrating as it is worse than it was before. He has been back to the doctor who just told him to use ice packs on it.
It didn't stop him from doing jobs around the house though, he is a workaholic.
He cleaned the roof of the motorhome.
The birds are still visiting us and enjoying the seed we put out for them. We also had this dragonfly sitting on our door handle one day.
It got very uncomfortable being in the campground, as whenever we went for a walk we felt as though the new hosts thought we were spying on them. One of them always managed to come find me as I was walking and walk back to our site with me. He was pleasant enough, it was just very strange.
On top of that, we had a disagreement with the other female camphost. Sorry but the following is a rant!!!
We had friends that came back in the campground. They arrived in the dark, and as Bryan took the trash out he saw they had arrived and went to welcome them. He ended up helping them park in their spot. They were very grateful. The on duty camphost wasn't in the park to meet them, and the other one wasn't in the park as it was his time off.
The next day we were talking with a group of people as we went on our walk and the camphosts asked us about the branches that had been cut down on our friends site. Bryan told her that he had helped him get in his spot, and the camper had said about cutting the branches because they were dragging on his rig. I guess another camper had helped him cut them down after Bryan left.
Anyway the camphosts asked us what they should do with the branches, which were neatly stacked by the woods next to the site. We told them that we usually just threw any branches back into the woods to decompose back in their natural habitat.
She then proceeded to tell Bryan that he shouldn't have helped him, that he was no longer the camphost and he should have been told to park his rig further to the front so that the branches wouldn't drag on it. It didn't matter where he would have parked, the branches would have still been on his roof.
Bryan ended up walking away because she was just so offensive, and I was proud of the fact that he did that. He wanted me to go with him, but me being a woman, wasn't going to let her get away with talking to him the way she did. I told her that if she wanted to tell the camper where to park, and that he couldn't cut the branches down, then she should have been there to meet him and help him in his site, but she wasn't, she was off base.
I was disgusted by her pompous attitude, but very calm and I didn't raise my voice. They asked me to show them where we would put the branches and I walked with them to the site. It was about 200 yards and while we were walking she again said that we needed to realize we weren't camphosts. I told her again that we were not acting as camphosts, but as friends and yet again that she wasn't in the park to help them when she was on duty.
I helped them put the branches in the woods. I guess it was ok for me to be helping a camphost!!!!
After we finished she said again about where she would have told him to park. I told her again very firmly, that if she wanted to tell him where to park, she should have been there when he arrived as she was the on duty camphost.
The next day the other camphost told Bryan he was glad that I had stood up to her and he should be proud of me. Bryan told him that I would always defend him if he was right, but I would also let him know if he was wrong. Ha!!Ha!!
Anyway, we were very happy that we had already decided to go and visit Ryan, Christina and Trystan for Thanksgiving and Bryan's 60th birthday. It would give us a respite from the camphosts. So sad.

Coronavirus Update
As at: Cases USA Cases Florida Deaths USA Deaths Florida
Nov 1st 9,189,715 807,412 230,870 16,997
Nov 30 13,522,247 999,319 267,844 18,834
The USA had 36,974 deaths in November, 23,394 deaths in October, 23,216 deaths in September, dropping from 30,309 in August. Unfortunately the number of deaths from October to November increased after leveling out the prior month.
Florida had 1,837 deaths in November dropping from 2,481 deaths in October, 3,157 deaths in September, and 4,555 in August. The number of deaths in Florida per month, continues to decrease in contrast to the USA totals.
On November 28th, the USA passed 13 million cases. There were 4,446,470 new cases in the month of November, averaging 148,216 new cases a day. At one time during the month we added 1 million new cases in 5 days!!!!. Unfortunately, the average number of new cases per day were significantly higher than the previous high in July(61,718), October(59,966),August(47,663) and September(39,888). I started watching these figures at the end of March 2020. The lowest was May 2020(22,160).
On November 18th, Florida passed 900,000 cases. There were 196,772 new cases, averaging 6,559 a day. This figure is significantly higher than October(2,941), September(2,857), August(4,600) but still significantly lower than July(10,000). The lowest was May 2020(691).
On November 30th, we had 589 cases on base, as opposed to 391 at the end of October, 275 at the end of September, 237 at the end of August, and 267 at the end of July. Unfortunately, a larger increase than the previous months.
Duval County (the county we are in) had 43,978 cases, 604 Deaths and 1,392 hospitalizations.
An increase of 8,722 cases, 81 Deaths, and 105 hospitalizations from October 31st.
The monthly increases in Deaths are still on a downward trend from previous months. There was a slight monthly increase in hospitalizations and a bigger increase in cases in November over October.
Unfortunately, cases have increased dramatically again, maybe due to Thanksgiving travel. Let's hope that this levels out. The good news is the number of deaths continues to decrease, at least in Florida. Hopefully they are finding out ways to treat this.
