I drove to Ryan & Christina's and went with them to her doctor appointment. Heard Trystan's heartbeat, everything is good. We picked Bryan up on way home and had dinner with them. Tinnie made Chicken Parmesan, yummy!!! I watched Andy Murray vs Kyrgios in the US Open, he won.

We went to Balboa Navy hospital pharmacy to get our prescriptions transferred from Las Vegas. It was a huge place and Bryan managed to squeeze into a parking place!! We went shopping at Sams Club & Walmart. The freeways and traffic here are horrendous. Did I mention that I hate the traffic and roads here, ugh. We went to check in with the Volunteer Coordinator here at Santee Lakes to see if our clearance had come through as we are due to start our work camping job here on the 15th. She is still waiting for the clearance but gave us the paperwork to get fingerprints, urine test & breathalyzer done. Once the clearance comes in we can go and get these done.
Our grandson Bailey had his first day back at school in the UK. Year 3 already, time flies. Love the uniforms in the UK.

I watched tennis much of the day. Joanne Konta won her 2nd round match against #9 Muguruza. Fantastic achievement for her. Andy Murray lost 1st 2 sets against Mannarino, really not himself. Started to come to life 3rd set and took sets 3, 4 & 5. So a win in the end!!! Bryan went fishing in the lake here while I was watching tennis and caught a fish but didn't get a picture of it.

We went back to Balboa Pharmacy to collect our drugs. We have to go back for one as they were out of stock and to Walmart for the other as they don't stock it. Walmart are out of stock of it so need to go back next week for that as well. Did some food shopping.

Today is baby Trystan's due date but no sign of him arriving. He knows when he is well off. Mommy Christina is more than ready for him to make his appearance though. Ryan & Christina came for dinner and Bryan made Flank Steak. Andy Murray beat Bellucci in three sets.
Sunday September 6th, 2015
Had a quiet day in.
Monday September 7th, 2015
I watched tennis all day again. Kevin Anderson beat Andy Murray in 4 sets. He always knows when I have a lot going on and need to concentrate on my life, not his, ha!! ha!! Joanna Konta lost as well but a good tournament for her.

We went to the doctors with Christina. There is still no sign of Trystan's arrival. We left her at home to rest. We had to go to Verizon to get Bryan a new phone which seemed to take forever and so after that we were hungry and decided to go to Olive Garden for lunch. We met an Air Force WWII vet. He was a lovely gentleman who was having lunch with his daughter. He & Bryan chatted about all things military and had a lovely time. He was stationed at Molesworth and loved that I was English. It was good to see him enjoying reminiscing about the old days. He ended up buying us dessert, wouldn't take no for an answer and it was so generous of him. Strange the odd encounters you have when you least expect it. His daughter also told us about an Honor Flight he had been on to Washington D.C. and how wonderful it had been. We thanked him for his service and for dessert.

It was one year ago today that I awoke to find that my beloved mum had passed away in her sleep. I remember clearly waking that morning and sitting on the side of my bed as I had this feeling that she had gone. I was scared to go to her alone and of what I might find. As I was sitting on the side of my bed, my sister in law, Julie came out of her room. She asked if I was ok and I told her I was scared. We went down the stairs together and stood outside mum's room. It was quiet, we looked at each other and knew. Her breathing had been so rasping that we would have heard it. We went in together and she was laying there peacefully. Julie felt her hand and it still felt warm and for a moment we wondered if she was still with us but it was not so. We left the room, stood outside the door and hugged and cried. She was in a better place now and no longer in pain. My brother Ray came down the stairs at that moment and knew as well. We went back in to see her. For me everything was then a whirlwind. One day I will catch up on my blog and write in detail but for now I had to call my son Ian, who was going to come and visit his nan that day. Bryan was due to arrive at Heathrow that morning and I was going to meet him so I called our taxi driver and asked him to go alone and get Bryan for me. I had told Bryan that if there was any reason I couldn't be there that Tony would meet him. Anyway, here we are a year later.
Mum placed this obituary in the newspaper in January 1977 on an anniversary of my nan's passing and I am honored to repeat this here.

"There is a love in this world so tender and rare,
it's the love a mum and daughter share.
We shared that love mum you & I,
from the day I was born to the day you died.
There are other mums I know,
but you were mine and I loved you so.
Forever in my thoughts"
I Love and miss you Mum, Rest in Peace

Today would have been Bryan's Dads 76th birthday and we remembered him and times we had spent with him. As Bryan said we know he is up there looking down on us and and helping us through our difficult times, smiling with us in our happy moments. Love you Dad and miss you.

We are still waiting for Trystan to arrive and after a couple of very sad emotional days we are looking forward to happier emotions any time soon.

The anniversary of 9/11 and the bombings 14 years ago in 2001. We had hoped Trystan wouldn't arrive today but Christina is so uncomfortable we just want him to get here. Ryan & Christina went to the doctors but she is still not ready and they made an appointment for next Tuesday. She has been having some cramps so hopefully something is starting. They came to visit and we went for a walk around two of the lakes here at the park. It was very hot and poor Tinnie must have been so uncomfortable. We got Chilis for dinner.

We are playing a waiting game as Christina has been having contractions all last night and today. So exciting but not fun for her!!!

It is Kris's (Ian's better half) birthday today and she is home in Wales celebrating with the boys. HaPpY HaPpY Birthday Kris. Meanwhile back in San Diego, USA we were waiting for Trystan's arrival. We got a call that they were headed to the hospital and later in the afternoon we headed over to wait the arrival. We sat with them for a while, talked and watched the contractions. Christina had been given an epidural as she has been having labor pains for a long while and needed some relief. After sitting with her & Ryan for a while the nurse came in and said she was ready to start pushing. We went out to the waiting room to wait!! Christina's family arrived and we all waited in the waiting area. She ended up having a c-section after a lot of pushing and Trystan was finally born at 9:53pm, weighing 9lbs 2ozs and 22inches long. Welcome to the world Trystan James Stewart and congratulations mommy and daddy. It was nearly midnight when we got to see them but what a Grandparents Day present he was.

We got home from the hospital very early this morning, excited and very happy. After a good sleep we got up. Everyone is doing well and we are going to visit. First I had to get some flowers. I had seen a balloon I wanted to get when we were here in June and so we went to get that. Unfortunately the store didn't have any and so we spent a couple of hours driving around trying to find one somewhere. In the end I gave up and got a florist to fill the container I had, which had been given to Ryan when he was born, with flowers and a different balloon.
We arrived at the hospital and got some cuddles with Trystan James. He is named James after his great-grandfather, Bryan's Dad.

Today we had to pack up and move to a new spot in the park, our Camp Host spot. We went and filled the gas tank up on Lily as she will be sitting for 6 months and we will need to have gas to test the generator and the engine during that time. As we started to pack up the heavens opened and it poured with rain. We went to the gas station in the pouring rain.

The rain eventually stopped and Bryan finished up outside. Yuck, what a terrible day to have to move.
At the hospital they decided that Trystan and Christina could go home. Fortunately, they had to wait for the doctor and by the time he got there the rain had stopped. Here are a few pictures from their last day at the hospital and the ride home.
Welcome to the world baby Trystan, we love you.
