After staying in yesterday we had a day out on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway. We drove to Garibaldi to get the train to Rockaway Beach.
All aboard and off we go!!!!
I took a VIDEO of part of the train trip. We went along the bay and just inland for a short while, the views were awesome.
Looking at these lily leaves reminded me of the song "We All Stand Together". I found the video that I have linked to, just watch & listen.
All together now, bom, bom, bom....bom,bom,bom...... Don't ask, I have no idea why that song popped into my head at that time. It was just the leaves and I'm sorry, I can't help myself. I started singing it to Bryan, who just gave me his look. I was laughing so hard. Hey, whatever makes you happy!!!! He did have to smile though.
| Can't you just imagine the frogs on these singing. If not, watch the video I've linked above. |
Once we got to Rockaway Beach we got off and walked around for about 20 minutes before boarding the train for the return trip. We could have stayed an extra hour and got the next train back but it was quite cold and we didn't want to hang around for another hour.
The train waiting to take us back.
We sat in the enclosed carriage for the return trip.
Here we go again, bom,bom,bom.....bom.bom,bom.......
It was a really fun trip with some pretty scenery.
On the way back we stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Although we got to see the processes here we preferred the cheese sampling at Face Rock Creamery in Bandon, as they had more selection and a variety of cheeses. There were only the normal ones to sample here and nothing different. Needless to say we didn't buy any. Quite disappointing.
Watching the cheese being made and going through the different processes.
A Quilt made for the 100th anniversary in 2009.
Then to finish off our day we went back to Cape Meares and took the short hike to see the Octopus Tree.
This viewpoint was by the Octopus Tree.

Today was another travel day but before we left Bryan took some pictures of the park here.
The spaces are pretty close together but fortunately we had nice neighbors who we hope to see again some day.
On the road to Camp Rilea Military RV Park, in Warrenton.
We got to the park safely and after some maneuvering managed to get a satellite signal. We are on the end of the row and there is a football camp and ROTC training going on in the field in front of us. This is going to be fun.
