Summer of 21 - #45 - Hickory Hollow Everyday Life

July 8th - August 8th, 2021

July 10th, 2021

We went to get some Bimbo bread, if you remember this is our favorite bread that is hard to find up here.  We had to travel quite a way again but it was a nice drive.  Our GPS didn't realize there was a new road and we took a wrong turn that resulted in us going 30 minutes out of our way.  We were successful in buying our bread though, phew!!!

We had some heavy rain for an extended time and overnight.  When we got up the ceiling lining in the living area had come down.  Bryan dried out the ceiling and put the lining back up.  This took a couple of days. He also checked and resealed where he thought the leak was on the roof.

The Olympics started and we stayed up and watched the opening ceremony. They continued until August 8th.
Tennis started almost immediately and I endured some very late nights, sometimes not getting to bed until 5am. Novak Djokovic didn't get a medal and was going for the Golden Slam this year which means winning the 4 Grand Slams and the Olympics. A very rare thing as winning the 4 slams is difficult enough but adding the Olympic Gold which is only possible every 4 years would be incredible. I know it's mean but I was glad he didn't get Gold. I'm sorry but I just don't like him or his attitude and this is the one thing that Andy has that he doesn't. In fact Andy has two Gold Medals!!!

Today we visited Laurel Hill State Park. It's a small but pretty park.

We walked over to the bridge in the picture below and took some pictures.

The next three pictures were taken from the bridge

These cows were in the field on our way out of our campground.
I took some pictures of the scenery on the way home

We have seen many of these "Don't blame me, I voted for Trump signs." So many in fact that I really don't see how he lost Pennsylvania!!! 😉

We finally got back to the campground.

It's a really nice campground and the people here are very helpful.

We were due to leave today and I finally took some pictures of the view out of the front window.

Unfortunately when Bryan did his checks he found one of our new tires was flat.  It had a hole in it. It delayed our departure by a day.  I'll cover that in a future blog!!
