We are extremely honored and blessed to have LeeAnn, our granddaughter, in our lives. As many of you know LeeAnn was born with Downs Syndrome and she embraces life to the fullest.

Today was busy at the campground and we had a few knocks on our door from campers. The pool gate got stuck, someone else needed the code and last but not least a tree limb fell. The limb was huge about 20 feet long and was obviously rotten. Fortunately no one got hurt and it missed hitting anything except the ground.

Bryan met a coyote by the restrooms/pool while he was cleaning early this morning. Not sure who was startled more. Tonight was our first night of being on call for a week. We take it in turns for this and it should come round about every 7 weeks. We have to take any phone calls that come in between the hours of 10.30pm and 6am. They told us they rarely get any calls and none had been received the previous two weeks. Well guess what, we had just gone to bed and the phone rang. A lady had no water. Bryan went to her site and her water pressure regulator was bad, so he took it off and voila she had water. Hmmmm, no calls for two weeks and we get one in the first hour. This is going to be fun!!!!
Saturday October 3rd, 2015
I went to have my hair cut with Tinnie at her hairdressers and then we got Bryan, and all went for lunch at Olive Garden. Trystan behaved for his first meal out with us.
We went back to Tinnie's and stayed with her for a while as Ryan is out at sea somewhere!!!! Trystan had fun with Grandpa.
We had two calls on the "on call" phone within the first hour tonight and the same person called at least three times while Bryan was going to the gate to check them in. The second call was a camper who couldn't remember the code to get in. I think someone was messing with us when they said we shouldn't get any calls. We are getting scared to go to bed as it seems as soon as we do this the phone rings!!!

It was raining today. Tinnie & Trystan came for dinner. Trystan was a little grumpy but so adorable. He is three weeks old today.
| He wore his slippers to make him feel at home. ha!!ha!! |
Monday October 5th, 2015
Today was our day off. Bryan went food shopping and to the barbers. We cleaned and did laundry. We have managed to figure out the washing machine and dryer in the motorhome now and as long as we do small loads it is fine. So, we are not going to the launderette unless we do our quilt. Yay!!!
Tuesday October 6th, 2015
I caught up with the blog for September and we went to buy new sheets for our bed as ours were wearing thin. We bought a new comforter as well but decided to return it as it was a bit of an impulse buy and we really didn't need it.

Aimee got Perfect Attendance, Perfect Timing and All A Honor Roll awards at school. Way to go Aimee.

Leeann practiced with her sheep Bunco. She is learning how to walk and show him to sell. Should be a good experience for her.

Bryan's encounter with nature was coming face to face with a raccoon, outside the motorhome, as he went to do the bathrooms early this morning, and then he encountered a snake on the dog run. These early mornings he is encountering quite a bit of wildlife here. He can handle most things but not the snakes. Fortunately, he was in the golf cart when he saw the snake and just kept his distance.

We went to the dog beach with Ryan, Tinnie, Trystan and Peace and Jesse. The water was quite rough and a jetty they usually walk along was under the water as the tide was high. There were lots of dogs here but they all behaved really well. It was fun to see.

Afterwards we went back to their place and had lunch before going to Walmart to do our big food shopping. We have started to do a menu and buy what we need for two weeks. We still have to go for bread and milk and some fresh fruit and vegetables but overall it is working quite well. I took this short VIDEO of Trystan. He was 4 weeks old yesterday.

We woke up and had no electric. There was a note on our door last night when we got home saying that the electric might go off during the day as they were working in our loop but we didn't expect it to be off before 7.30am. Our batteries were dead as the inverter had converted to battery power and drained the batteries. We tried to start the generator but it wouldn't start. Needless to say we weren't in very good moods after all that so we decided to go to I-Hop, as we couldn't even make coffee!!! We did a little window shopping after breakfast and by the time we returned the power was back on. Thank goodness for that.
Trystan is one month old today.
Our friend Kathy made this hat and bow-tie for him, so cute!!!
Here's a picture of Ryan on his ship.
Nothing much happened this week, just the usual park duties and everyone was sick at different times. We did get to see Ryan, Christina & Trystan on the 18th for a visit.
I managed to get a picture of Grandpa with Trystan.

Ryan carved a pumpkin freehand. He always was the artist in the house.

I decided to put my hummingbird feeder out and as I was mixing the nectar in the kitchen a hummingbird came and looked in the window, however there was no sign of him when I put the feeder out. There was a Chilli Cook Off at the pot luck tonight and Bryan made a pot. Although he got 7 votes he didn't get a place. The winner got 12 votes. He is very competitive so was a little disappointed but we know he had two people who had him in first place so that wasn't bad and one of them was our boss. No one knew whose chili was whose and she asked him what number his was. When he told her, she showed him her placements and she had him first. She said it was the best.
Thursday October 22nd, 2015
I had my first hummingbird at the feeder today, yay!!! That didn't take long.
Friday October 23rd, 2015
On the way to the office this morning we got a picture of this heron watching a fisherman on one of the lakes here and hoping for an easy meal I'm sure. It is really beautiful here and we will have to remember to take the camera with us when we go to the office in the mornings.
Tinnie had a doctors appointment today and I went with her to look after Trystan while she was with the doctor. Bryan stayed at the campground to clean the sites. Fridays are our busiest day as we have a lot of campers arriving for the weekend. We got Sonic for lunch, Bryan had already eaten a burger from the BBQ here at the park. Our hummingbird came back to visit today.
We had a lovely afternoon visiting with Tinnie and Trystan before they went home.

Ryan, Christina and Trystan went to a pumpkin patch.
Ryan has been showing Trystan how to play video games!!
We went for dinner with Ryan, Christina and Trystan and two of their friends as an early birthday dinner for Ryan. Ryan chose Hooleys, which is an Irish Pub here in San Diego. I had fish and chips which was good for over here and they made a pretty good shandy even though they had never heard of it and I had to tell them how to make it. I really miss my Skate and Chips that I get in London but I will have to wait until we go back whenever that might be. Bryan likes the scampi you get in London as well, which you can't get here. Sorry, I didn't get any pictures of Ryan but guess what I did get one of Trystan & Grandpa. Sorry Ryan, love you. :)

I have two hummingbirds that come to the feeder. One is green and plainer than the other one that has a red head. I call the plain one "Boy" and the pretty one "Girl". ;)
I got bitten by something today when we were cleaning the sites and the top of my arm swelled. I put some ointment on and the swelling stopped spreading. I will keep an eye on it.
Monday October 26th, 2015
We went to Miramar Marine Base today as I had to get my ID card renewed. We had made an appointment and it didn't take very long at all. The marine that renewed my card was named "Thom" and for some unexplainable reason I immediately thought of the David Bowie song, Space Oddity. I kept singing "This is Major Tom to ground control" in my head and smiling. I'm sure the marine must have thought I was mad and he certainly would have done if he could have read my mind!! Miramar is about the same distance as the Navy base in San Diego but much easier, in our opinion, to get to. We did our grocery shopping and had a look around the exchange there. I think we may come here to do our bi-weekly shop as we are having trouble getting our meat any where local to where we are.
Bryan took these pictures of two planes on display there. Unfortunately they didn't look as though they were well maintained and were in need of some tender loving care.
When we got home, there were several bees around the bird feeder. I have had ants before but never bees, ugh!!!
Bryan repaired one of the park fire pits that we lend to campers. One of it's legs had come off and so he fixed it.
We have our first rose since we arrived in the garden by our front door.
We got these pictures on our way out of the park this morning at the lakes. It really is beautiful here.
Tuesday October 27th, 2015
I stayed in today. The bees arrived again and there were more of them. I will have to take the feeder down and work out what to do.
We got this picture of Trystan today. His mom sure does know how to keep us all happy with lots of pictures.

Today is Ryan's 23rd Birthday. We were going to go and see him when he got home from work but I had an upset stomach that I didn't want to risk giving them or Trystan and he ended up working late anyway. HaPpY HaPpY Birthday Ryan. Ryan is on the left, his hospital picture, and Trystan on the right.
We took the hummingbird feeder down as there really were more and more bees arriving. I'm sad!!!
An Osprey went over the park today.
Meanwhile back in the UK, Bailey & Kai visited a farm. It was the same one we went to with them last year.

We babysat Trystan tonight so that Ryan & Christina could go out for a concert for Ryan's birthday. Tinnie sent me this short VIDEO of Trystan where she is telling him to be good for nanny. Ha!!Ha!! So cute.
It was the first time we had babysat and the first time Tinnie had left Trystan for any time. He was very good and we sent her pictures to show he was doing Ok.

We didn't get up until 8am and then started work at 9am. Cleaned our sites for the incoming weekend campers and then Bryan cleared our site again. While we were gone yesterday there must have been some wind gusts because when we got home there was a huge pile of leaves on our patio so they needed to be swept up again. It is a continuous process trying to keep the leaves swept here.
Another picture of Ryan at work.
Ryan & Trystan dressed for a Halloween party at their apartments. We were invited but declined as we had a busy day and want to be fresh for tomorrow night.
Saturday October 31st, 2015
Ryan, Christina and Trystan came over for Halloween. We sat outside giving out candy for a while. Ryan gave the candy out. He was a scarecrow and sat so still that the kids didn't know if he was real or not until he suddenly moved to give them their candy. It was a great costume.

So, October is now officially over. Hope you all had a good Halloween.
Take Care, see you next month.
