We took a day trip to visit Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse which is Florida's tallest lighthouse, although St. Augustine has 219 steps compared to the 203 here.
It is just south of Daytona Beach.
We took our time climbing the steps. This is Bryan's first lighthouse since his knee replacement so we were just going to see how he did. There are platforms on most of the levels that you can stop at. We did this and took our time, sometimes letting people pass us, and of course waiting for people to come down.
They were quite a few informational signs.
We finally made it to the top. Yay!! we did it and Bryan's knee survived. Going down will be harder for him though.
I went LIVE on facebook from the top.
We made it down safe and sound and had a rest on the porch of the Principal Keeper's Dwelling.
After a short rest we looked around inside.
This was our reflection in the parabolic mirror.
The engraved window was nice. The picture doesn't do it justice.
See how tall it is!!!
Lots of interesting information.
On the way home, I saw this truck with a "Spread Good Vibes" sign on the back. It seemed appropriate for this beachside community.

The dugout canoe is shown above.
Bryan caught me on camera poking my tongue out at him!!! He'd done the same to me in another room.
I was watching a short video about the Native Americans in Florida.
I had to take a picture of the notice below. This is exactly how it was in my home when I was growing up. Mum always did the wash on a Monday, and we had leftovers from our Sunday roast. These usually included my favorite "Bubble & Squeak". which was the leftover mashed potatoes and cabbage or Brussel sprouts that were mashed up together and fried. It was delicious, especially with brown sauce on it. My mouth is watering.
It was usually a day I could persuade her to play shops with me as well. She made a shop for us in the leanto/conservatory, which was where the wringer for the wash was kept as well. Any empty cereal boxes, food boxes, old newspapers were salvaged for our shop. I would also pick leaves from the plants in the garden as lettuce, or whatever I could find that my imagination could make into food!!! We had a toy till as well with pretend money. Mum had to be a customer.
Anyway, back to the present day.
Next stop.........
I waited on the porch for Bryan.Lots of interesting information.
There was a room that had information about the Daytona races that were originally held on the beach!!!
Back outside, there was an exhibition of actual rafts that had been used by Cubans Refugees to get to America. As I understand it, President Clinton created the Wet Foot, Dry Foot Policy during his presidency in 1995. It allowed Cubans who managed to get to American soil by boat to stay without Visas and eventually become citizens. Any that were intercepted at sea before landing on soil were not allowed to stay, and sent back to Cuba. President Obama ended the policy in January 2017 so all refugees caught trying to land were returned to Cuba.
This Great Egret was walking around the grounds.

It was a good day. Bryan's knee survived although it ached a little, he said it wasn't as bad as it would have been before the surgery. That is good news, today was quite a test.
