I found a covered wagon tour that went through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. It sounded interesting so we booked a waterfall tour with Ole Covered Wagon Tours.
Here's the wagons we're going to ride in.

Fishing in the river
We saw a lot of fly fisherman as we went along the bank. It was beautiful.
There are a few cabins here.
This suspension bridge leads to a cabin that you can rent. You can't bring your car here. You are brought here by the owners and then have to walk across this suspension bridge with your luggage. There is no way out apart from walking. So make sure you take what you need, but not too much as you will be walking back and forth across the bridge to get it to your cabin.
It was a steady climb until we reached the second staircase. On the way we started talking to another couple and the two men decided they would stop at a bench here while us ladies continued up the steps.
The horses got harnessed up again and we started the journey back. We went the same way except we were now sitting on the side of the river which was nicer and made it easier to take pictures.
We saw some big trout in the stream and one of the fishermen catching one. We also saw several palomino trout.
There's the other wagon ahead of us.
The guides told us the history of the area and the names of the plants and trees.
Turkey Path led to Little Four Mile Waterfall.
This is the path we walked along. You can see the waterfall in the distance and a smaller one at bottom left.
After the steps was another footpath that was quite steep and we were both laughing as we tried to navigate it without slipping back down. I think she was older than me but she kept turning around and telling me where to put my feet. We were both laughing so much its a wonder we both didn't slide down the hill on our backsides but we managed it.
We climbed the final staircase and there was a viewing platform up there. I took some pictures.
and then we started our descent. Going down the path was harder for me as I was scared of slipping but I managed to get footholds and eventually made it back down.

Looking down
There's the guys waiting for us and being chatted up by another woman. 😉
Sorry the picture is a bit blurry. I was walking down the steps at the time and there were people in front, and behind me, so I didn't have time to focus.
Back at the start of the trail we walked over to the river and saw a sign.
Beware of snakes!! This should be at the entrance to the waterfall trail.
There's the wagons but where are the horses????

More fisherman
We passed the Darling Run parking area and trail.
The guides passed one of the horse shoes around and some historic pictures and information.
There was an eagle in the tree far ahead of us but we didn't see it.
Back at the start the other horses came running to greet us.
It was a lovely trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it although our rear ends were a little numb from sitting still on the bumpy ride so long!!!
We headed home after a good day out.
