Summer of 21 - #30 - Moving on again & time to relax......but for how long?

May 25th, 2021

We left Fantasy Island.  There were no sightings of Mr. Roarke or Tattoo and no mysterious guests flying in..........

Leaving town there were these white spots on the road asking you to keep your distance.  Maybe the latest in coronavirus for cars!!! We had a chuckle, although we do take the virus seriously.

The scenery was great again although not quite as compelling as our previous move.

As we got higher we saw more mist hanging around.

The mist disappeared as we got to lower ground.

Our campground is on the other side of this river, amongst all those trees.

We've arrived.

We went out to get some dinner and saw this train on the track near the campground but we didn't hear the trains in the campground.

May 26th - June 1st, 2021
Ives Run Campground is one of the Corps of Engineer parks that we love to stay in. This one didn't disappoint.

We had a welcoming committee.  This turkey came to say hello as we arrived. Sorry the picture is a bit blurred but was best I got.

After all the sightseeing we did in Gettysburg the plan was to relax here and do very little. Unfortunately you know what they say about the best laid plans......
Our relaxation days were abruptly ended when Bryan's laptop quit on him!!! He couldn't resurrect it, so set upon finding a replacement which was difficult in this remote spot. We scoured all possibilities and he found the one he wanted, we just had to find a store that was relatively close and had one in stock at a reasonable price. Eventually I found one at Staples, of all places. We would have to go to Elmira in New York State but that was only a 45 minute drive so not too bad.
So 2 days after arriving we drove to New York State. Fortunately all restrictions on entering the state had been lifted.

Close to civilization I guess.

We had a successful trip and came out of Staples with a new laptop at a reasonable price. Now all Bryan had to do was get it all set up, which he did.

We managed to relax for the next few days.

This American Goldfinch came to say hello.

We went for walks around the park.

Information about the fish in the lake

He was looking at us closely as if to say where's my food!!

That house must have a good view but I'm not sure I'd want to be balanced up there!!

Dam in the distance

Looking toward the other campground, we'll take a drive over there

We took the car and drove to another campground here that is more remote and doesn't have full hook ups.

Nice and quiet here but I suspect the weekends are noisier

We drove 13 miles into Wellsboro which was the nearest town to get groceries and look around.

and came home a different way where we saw cows and a deer that I didn't get a picture of because I was taking a video. Here's a LINK.  I got so excited at seeing the baby deer that the picture is shaky and it is right near the end of the video but hang in there and you will see the baby clearly at the end. 😁

Can you see the cows?

Back at the campground, one night the sky was really colorful.

In the next blog we'll go on a covered wagon tour and climb a waterfall. I guess the relaxing has come to an end!!!
