We had a lovely trip and the wedding was great and we got to spend quality time with Brenda, Ryan & Christina.
Now, we're back to the real world. We had been checking up on Lily while we were away and everything had been done except the awning which they were waiting for a part for. It was due to arrive tomorrow. Sam told us we could stay in Lily tonight and then hopefully they would be able to finish tomorrow.
We cancelled our reservations for Bill Frederick Park in Orlando for tomorrow and Saturday as we weren't sure Lily would be ready.
We checked out of the hotel and headed toward Lazy Days, stopping for breakfast at the Waffle House next to the hotel. When we arrived at Lazy Days we met with Sam who told us she had arranged for Lily to be put in a spot with electric hook ups but no water or sewer. This was actually better than we thought as we didn't think we would have any hookups. We went and found her and luckily there was a water hookup straight across from us so we just drove across there and filled the water tank. We checked everything out and most things were ok. The fuse for the radio and power outlet on the dash worked initially but after we drove to get the water it had blown again. The tv antenna was hooked up so we could now get local channels on the front tv but still couldn't get them on the bedroom tv. We called Sam and let her know and she said she will tell the mechanics so they can look at them again tomorrow. We didn't do anything else apart from going to Crackerbarrel for dinner. We were really tired from the travelling yesterday and today and so after unpacking the suitcases we just rested.

We both had a really good nights sleep. It was good to be home and in our own bed. We got up, wrote our shopping lists, packed up Lily so she would be ready when they came to get her to finish the repairs and went for breakfast at I-Hop. On the way to breakfast we stopped to see Sam and told her we were going out and would be back later. Bryan also told her that we didn't have anywhere to stay tonight as we had to cancel our reservation because Lily wasn't ready. She told him she would arrange somewhere for us. The site we were in last night was actually quite nice and had more room than the ones we paid $40 for here before we left for the wedding and it was free!! Well, that's if you don't count the repair bill.
We knew it could be a while before we could get back in Lily so we drove out to Macdill Air Force base for our shopping. We looked around and got the non perishable things from our shopping list. Our cupboards were quite bare and we had emptied the fridge and freezer before we went to the wedding as we knew the motorhome wouldn't be hooked up to power some of the time so we had a LOT of shopping to get.
We eventually drove back to Lazy Days. The roads were busy and so it took a while and when we got there they were just finishing up fixing the tv connections in the car park. Sam couldn't get us in the same place as last night as they had a lot of new owners who were trying out their new rigs overnight but she got them to put Lily in a place at the back of the parking lot and it did have a power hookup so we were ok with that. Someone else was parked out there with no hookups so we felt fortunate. We paid our repair bill, eek!!! and went and checked everything. It all seemed to work ok. We went out to get the frozen and refrigerated stuff on our list and got Arby's on the way home.
Finally, we had all the food unpacked and put away and were ready to head out in the morning.

We decided to stop at Themeworld RV Resort just outside Orlando tonight. I called them and they had a site available. Once we got there the site we were supposed to be in had someone in it, we just went in the site next to it. I went back to the office and told them. They didn't seem to know who was in what site but apart from this disorganization the park was ok. They have home models there and we had a look at them. They were quite nice but the 2 bedroom didn't have anywhere to put a washer/dryer so that put us off them a little. They were built by the builder who owns the park and seemed to be of good quality though. He actually introduced himself to us and explained to us some of the changes he had made. We went back to Lily and I made a pizza for dinner.

We drove to Manatee Hammock Campground in Titusville, near Cape Canaveral where we are staying for the next week. It didn't take us long and we arrived about 11:30am. Check in wasn't until 3:00pm but they said if no one was in our site we could setup. I looked and there was a truck and trailer parked there but they looked as though they were just getting ready to leave. Sure enough by the time we had unhooked the car they had left and we drove to our site and setup camp.
We got the satellite setup easily. We had been a little concerned as there are a lot of trees here and that sometimes blocks the signal. I had put a roast in the crockpot and so dinner was easy. We sat outside reading and relaxing while waiting for the dinner to finish cooking.

We went to Patrick AFB today as we wanted to get reduced tickets for the Space Center and take a look at the campground there. We drove along the coast, past Port Canaveral and the cruise terminals and through Cocoa Beach which seemed like a regular beach town. We didn't think the base was anything special but we did find out you can get a hop from here to Antigua. "Hops"" are seats on military planes that are available to military and retirees for a small amount. They are available on a space available basis and you can be waiting around for a while. It seems the flights to Antigua go out of here every Monday and there are usually empty seats. The cost is $17.50 each. The flights come back every Wednesday and the return cost is $35 each. So for $52.50 you can get a return flight to Antigua. We spoke to a nice young man in the terminal who gave us more information on it and told us that Tickets & Tours on base had information on lodging there. He said most people go the first time on the Monday flight and return on the Wednesday flight to see if they like it and then go back for the longer 10 days if they want to. Of course, as this is space available there is always the risk that there won't be available seats on the flight back and you would either have to wait a week or book regular airlines!!! At least these seats are on a regular passenger plane, some of the hops are on transport planes. We went to tickets and tours and they gave us information on the hotels there. It seems they are about $250/night but that is all inclusive with food and drinks for both of us. Needless to say we put this idea on hold for now. We got our tickets for the Space Center and headed home. The campground wasn't bad but you can't reserve the sites and in the winter they are usually full. You have to get there early in the day and hope someone is leaving. We are not that excited about it here to risk that.
When we got back it was such a nice day we went for a walk around the campground. It is on the Indian River and across from the Kennedy Space Center. There are a lot of squirrels and lizards here and this huge bird.
Huge bird in the middle of the picture. He made a lot of noise and there were several others but not quite as big as this one
This guy posed for me
Bryan contemplating whether to fish or not
The campground from the pier
A neighboring property
We asked if there are any vacancies here from next winter and guess what, no there isn't!! The good places sure do get booked early. Think we may book somewhere around here/Orlando for winter 2015/2016 and go elsewhere next winter.
Wednesday, we are going to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center.
