On the way to Creekside Campground, Edinburg, Virginia . It was a long drive for us and up and down hills.
This was our route for the day.
The final stretch took us down a narrow road to the campground. Thankfully we didn't meet any traffic coming the other way. The sites in the campsite were quite compact as well. Fortunately we were as prepared as we could be by looking on google maps and reading reviews. I had called the office as well to make sure the site I picked would be ok for the size of Lily. We just fit, and Bryan did a good job of maneuvering around the tree!!! The creek is right behind us. It may be time for some fishing!!

May 3rd, 2021
We went to Walmart for our food shopping and got Bryan a fishing license while we were there.
May 4th, 2021

We stayed in, took some more pictures of the campground and Bryan did some fishing.

He also saw several snakes in the water which made him back up on the bank a little but didn't stop him fishing. He has a real fear of snakes so he did very well.
We went to the New Market Battlefield Military Museum & the Virginia Museum of the Civil War & New Market Battlefield State Historical Park.

Bryan went fishing most days which was good to see and caught quite a few fish.

It was the weekend and the campground filled up. The people that came in next to us decided they needed two tables and put one underneath our back window in the bedroom. Some people!!!! Maybe it's us!! I don't know but we are always considerate of others space. These sites are close but there was room for that table to be moved over onto their site.
At 11.30pm, we did have to tell them nicely we were going to bed, and that was our bedroom window. They were very good and quietened down shortly after that. I know we're real grouches, at least it feels that way but some of the people we are seeing now are a different breed. It seems as though they just don't care. There are still many, many wonderful people out here though so we'll try and remember that.
Our week is up here tomorrow and we will be moving North. Next stop Gettysburg and more civil war history, although there will be some other stuff to explore as well.
