Summer of 19 - #27 - Moving again - Relaxing in a beautiful campground - Watching sports & fishing

Saturday September 28th, 2019
We were going to go to another waterfall today, but Bryan didn't have a good night or a lot of sleep.  We decided to stay home and have an easy day.
We found a couple more dead bugs this morning, and a couple barely alive so hopefully the bug bombs have worked.
Bryan put fresh peanut butter in the mouse traps, and we will see if any mice are tempted.  We haven't seen any signs of them though since we moved campgrounds, so maybe they decided to stay where they were.  Of course they may have abandoned ship(house) and gone overboard on the rough ride here.  We can but hope.
I took a couple of pictures of the geese on the lake.

We took the trash to the dumpster, and I got a couple more pictures of the campground.

We stayed in, watched sports and took it easy.  Both of us are feeling worn out, so we will take it easy before our move tomorrow.

Monday September 30th, 2019
It was moving day today, so we got packed up and headed out.  We crossed into Georgia, we're headed in the right direction.

We arrived at Bald Ridge Creek Campground and we had a truly beautiful site.

This is another Corps of Engineer Campground and so we get 50% off our site.  It was $12 a night and we had wonderful lake views on three sides.  We got setup on our site, and then went out to get a couple of things as we intend to relax and take things easy while we are here.

I stayed up late to watch Andy Murray playing in China. They are 12 hours ahead of us, he was on first at 1.30pm their time, which equated to 1.30am our time.  This really should be in October 1st post, but seeing as I didn't go to bed before the match I consider it still September 30th, ha!!ha!! Andy was playing Matteo Berrettini who is seeded 8 for this tournament.  Matteo has been climbing steadily up the rankings this year, so this would not be an easy match for Andy. Andy managed to win a tight match in two tie breaks, 7-6, 7-6, after they both broke serve twice.  The match lasted just over two hours and I ended up going to bed at 3.30am!!!  This was a wonderful win for Andy, and he was moving very well.  We will have to see how he holds up in his match tomorrow.

We stayed home, Bryan got a fishing license and fished and I relaxed, wrote the blog and did some research on places to go at future campgrounds this trip.  I took some pictures as well.
What a view!!!
Of course the views are awesome all around.

Fishing
After fishing, Bryan decided to relax.  He got his hammock out.  This is the first time he has used it, as we have trouble finding two trees the right space apart, and some campgrounds won't let you hang them.
A little close to the ground, at least not far to fall!!!

I continued taking pictures......

Aah, the hammock is getting moved higher.

That's better

Time for a nap
I stayed up late watching Andy Murray playing again in China.  His match started at 12.30am, so really this should be in October 2nd post.  He was playing another Brit, Cameron Norrie.  They both played really well, Andy won the first set in a tie break and was down 5-2 in the second set and seemed to be struggling physically.  He managed to get back into the set, but lost in a second tiebreaker, so it went to a third set.  I'm not sure what happened from there but he was revitalized, he changed his tactics slightly and ended running away with the set, winning it 6-1.  I ended up going to bed at 3.45am!!!!!

While I was still sleeping in bed, Bryan went out and did some early fishing.  He still didn't catch anything but it was quiet and looking at this picture, beautiful, as the sun rose.

Eventually,  I got up and after a while, we went out for a ride.  We drove around the park, it's not that big, there are a lot of pretty sites but we're very happy where we are.  I'm sure we will return here if we are in the area again.
The beach in front of our site
Just up the road we had seen this old truck, barn and tree that we wanted to get pictures of.

Tonight, I went to bed early, about 10pm, as I wanted to get up to watch Andy's match against Dominic Thiem.  This would be a real test against a top 5 player, but it was starting later then his two previous matches and would be on, not before 2.30am.  I set my alarm, hoping to get 4 hours sleep.  After some tossing and turning I did manage to get to sleep.

Thursday October 3rd, 2019
My alarm woke me up at 2.15am. I got up, made myself a cup of coffee, and got settled ready to watch Andy's match.  The prior ladies match finished, and he was soon on court.  He started quite slowly and didn't seem to be totally awake, although it was the middle of the afternoon there.
Thiem broke him in the first game, not a good start. After a couple of games he did seem to wake himself up and manage to play a good match.  Better than the eventual score line of 6-2, 7-6 indicates.
I was on the edge of my seat as he lost his serve in the first game of the second set as well, but managed to break Thiem back when he was serving for the match at 5-4, and forced the set into a tiebreak which he unfortunately lost.  A great effort from him though, and he is definitely improving with every match.  I got back to bed at 4.15am and managed to get a few more hours sleep!!!!
Fortunately, we have until 1pm to leave this site and we ended up leaving at 12.25pm.
It was time to move on, although I think both of us were a little reluctant to leave.  I even looked to see if our site was available for any extra days, but it was fully booked.  In fact, the whole campground was full for this coming weekend.  I'm not surprised.
We had what is becoming the normal travel day, a lot of up and down hills and twists and turns.

Today was a little worse than it has been and it was quite stressful, as the roads were quite narrow and  drop offs at the sides.  I'm not the best passenger, and I found myself leaning in towards the middle of the motorhome, as if that would make us thinner or further away from the edge!!!  I know, insane. The small, 2 mile, road to the campground was very steep and lots of curves and bends.  Poor Bryan, I'm sure he was happy to eventually get there.
We got set up, we have a very small peek-a-boo view of the lake.  Oh boy, were we spoilt at the last campground!!!!
Tomorrow we are going in hunt of the Sasquatch!!!!  Stay tuned, hopefully we will survive.......
