Summer of 19 - #37 - Tennis, deer say goodbye, moving & getting lost

Saturday October 19th, 2019
Wow!! I'm really getting to watch a lot of Andy Murray.  Something I haven't been able to do for a long while.  Today, Andy played Humbert in the semi-final at Antwerp and won 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.  I can't believe it, he's in a final, nine months after we thought he would probably have to retire.  How amazing is that.  Bryan is also watching his sports, so we are both happy.  We also did boring stuff like wash bedding etc. etc. etc. Ha!!Ha!!

Thank goodness we have a nice view from our house.  The people a couple of sites away from us, have been going out on their boat fishing.  This place is perfect for that.

We had a visit from the deer again today.  You probably can't see it but there's a small blue bird in front of the deer in the first picture below.

and a black crow (which I'm sure you can see) in this one.

It was another sports day. Andy played Wawrinka in the final at Antwerp, and he won 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.  How amazing was that. The respect these two have for each other is amazing, and they both battled to the end.  It was a tougher match than the score indicates, and I'm so happy Andy won.  At the end I told Bryan, he's going to cry.  Of course he did just that, and made me cry as well.  Can you tell I've missed watching him. Welcome back Champ!!!!  Bryan watched Nascar and Football.

Today we have to leave this wonderful campground and head to our next stop. We are due back in Jacksonville next Monday, when our work camping will begin.  One more week of freedom!!!
I got up and as I opened the curtains, look who was waiting for me!!!  Six deer, the most we have seen together at one time.  It was amazing.  I took lots of pictures. Bryan was still in bed, and so I sat quietly and just watched them.

Here's the Blue Jay back from yesterday as well.

I sat watching them for a long while until they disappeared.  What a lovely goodbye.  I went and got my coffee.  As I returned I noticed a couple of them were back.  I sat and watched them while drinking my coffee.
I always drink my morning coffee in this mug.  My lovely mum bought me a mug with these words a long while ago, that I used daily until it got a chip in it.  I still used it, but was worried it would break completely.  Bryan surprised me with this one that he searched for with the same words.  I still have the original, but use this one instead.  I feel she is with me every morning, as I wake up with my coffee.  This morning I shared the deer with her.  One deer is grazing in the middle of the picture, but is hard to see on here.  She would have loved it.

The Blue Jay is in this picture as well

Eventually they all dispersed, and I said a final farewell to them.  Bryan got up but had already missed them.  We slowly had our breakfast, and got ready to leave.
We crossed the border back to Alabama, and our time went back an hour.  We are getting confused with all this crossing back and forth over the state border every few days, and the time difference.  In four days we will be crossing back again, and gain our hour back, ha!!ha!!
We will have to take that into account in future, and try to stay one side or the other, without crossing back and forth, I think.
We arrived at Engineer Beach RV Park at Lake Tholocco on Fort Rucker Army Air Base.  Unfortunately the gate guard didn't know where the RV park was, and we didn't get a map.  I had saved written directions, but we missed a turn and with the RV it is very difficult to turn around sometimes.  We ended up in a large parking lot where we tried to call the park and get directions, but there was no answer.  I eventually got on my laptop on google maps, and found out the way to go. We were 8 miles away from the park.  These bases are huge!! We didn't have the location of the actual park, so I had to look for it, and then figure out the best way to get to it.  It is not easy driving a 38ft motorhome pulling a car, down narrow roads when you don't know where you're going, and you can't just turn around.  Bryan coped very well, but it was stressful for both of us.  We arrived at the office for checking in, and the girl there gave us a map.  Hooray!!!
We found the campground, disconnected the car, got set up and went to Charleys, another of our favorite sub shops, that we usually find on Air Force bases, to get dinner.  We were soon in better moods!!!!  There is a museum on base that I think we will go to tomorrow.  Watch out for that on the next blog.
