We hung around the campground on Fort Rucker. We were content to just relax and take it easy as our summer trip is winding down. As much as traveling is really exciting it can be tiring.
We could see the water in the distance from the motorhome but it was just a peek a boo view and not that exciting!! The campground here is ok but nothing special. We have been spoilt.
We had to put the fire on to take off the chill. I do love that we have a fireplace.
We left Fort Rucker and headed to our last campground before we reach NAS Jacksonville, reunite with Ryan, Christina & Trystan, and start our camphost job there for the winter.

| Hello Florida |
It was a nice drive along back roads to Eastbank Campground, which was actually in Eastbank, Georgia, so we crossed the border from Florida to Georgia but it was literally on the border.

Entering the gates of the campground, you can see the lake in the distance.
When we checked in there was a "gentleman" in the office complaining that there were no available handicapped sites, and it was law that campgrounds had to keep one site open daily for handicapped persons and he demanded that they give him a site. They were very polite with him and explained that you can't walk up to Corps of Engineer parks now and get a site. You have to go online and book. I have to admit this is not the most user friendly, but can understand the reasonings as it helps the hosts not having to handle money. They gave him the information so that he could do that, but he wasn't satisfied and kept telling them it was law that they have a site to give him. Eventually Bryan very kindly advised him that it was law that they had handicapped sites but there was no law that one had to be available. I wanted to tell him that he wasn't the only handicapped person in the world and that there could very well be handicapped people in the park occupying all the sites but I kept quiet. After Bryan spoke he left with threats to sue etc. etc. The things that park hosts have to put up with. I wonder what our winter will be like? The hosts thanked us for our patience and we had a nice chat. They really were a lovely couple and the guy was just a jerk.
You've just got to love the COE campgrounds. Always water and if you're lucky your campsite can be right on the water. We will be here for the weekend and don't have any plans. We are content to just relax and enjoy the views.

Saturday October 26th, 2019 - Sunday October 27th, 2019
We spent the weekend admiring the view, watching sports and relaxing. Great preparation before we start "work".
This guy was hanging around all weekend. He would arrive and sit on this pole from 9am until 12, almost as though he was standing guard. Then he would leave until the next day.
Here's our views from Lily.
We had an awesome sunset on our last night.
This wasn't the best campground this trip but it wasn't bad for the last night of our Summer of 19 trip.
Monday October 28th 2019
We had quite a long drive today to Jacksonville but figured we will have 6 months to sit still and recuperate. Well maybe not, as we will be "working" camphosting.
The first part of the drive was along nice country roads before we joined the freeway.
We arrived safe and sound in Jacksonville and got parked. We don't like the spot we have as we can't get a satellite signal, but we will be moving in a couple of days. The camp host that we are relieving is leaving tomorrow so we will be thrown in at the deep end. Yay!!
Bryan got together with him for a very quick chat, as he was out when we got here and arrived back just as we were leaving for Ryans birthday dinner.
It was good to catch up with the kids again and celebrate Ryans birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures. I think we were probably too tired. There will be plenty to come I'm sure.
Well that's the end of our Summer of 19 Tour. Hope you've enjoyed coming along for the ride. I'm sure we won't have very much to report on the next six months but will hopefully post a couple of times.
