San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum

February 9th, 2016 - San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum, Balboa Park

This visit is just a small part of our second visit to Balboa Park.  For a general overview of Balboa and a link to a map, please read the main blog that is available HERE.

Christina and Trystan met us and we continued our visit at San Diego Hall of Champions.

This is the world famous  mascot The San Diego Chicken.

These are two drivers suits for two of the San Diego area's more famous motorsports drivers. The orange one is for Ivan "The Ironman" Stewart, he was known for his off road driving. The blue one is for Jimmy Johnson, NASCAR driver from El Cajon.

The New Orleans Saints were featured.

We decided to have lunch at the Home Plate Bar & Grill inside the museum.  Everything was prepared while you waited which took a little while.  I thought it was Ok but Bryan wasn't impressed.  I can't remember what Christina thought of it, but Trystan had his usual snack and was happy.

To be honest I found this museum a little boring and Bryan was a little disappointed as well.  I think it is geared towards San Diego locals and that is fair enough as we are in San Diego, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except maybe ardent local sports fans.
