We went on a road trip to Point Cabrillo Light Station today. This involved a drive south along California State Route 1 which is the route that runs alongside the ocean through California and Oregon. It is a a very scenic route but most of it is definitely not suitable for motorhomes and so we are avoiding it in Lily and will take day trips to sightsee along it.
We saw this old house and truck which was still being lived in and had to take a picture.
The beginning of the road was winding and went through forests until it got to the coast and we were welcomed with this view. Aaaah, I just love the ocean. Here's a short VIDEO.

This bird, we think it was a Turkey Vulture welcomed us to the ocean.
Someone before us agreed that this is indeed a happy place!!!!
We drove further along the coast, stopping at numerous places with exceptional views.
Imagine this as your last resting place............
At one viewpoint we met another couple and we each took the others photo.
We wondered if we would ever reach the lighthouse as the views were so wonderful it was hard to leave each stop. Eventually though we got to Point Cabrillo. I will write about that in a separate blog.
