We packed up and headed out, stopping at McDonalds for breakfast on the way.
We stopped at NAS Key West, Boca Chico Key to take some pictures of the static displays there. I apologize that the planes aren't identified but my expert identifier is not with me at the moment. Missing you Bryan. xx
Then we carried on through the remaining Keys. We stopped to take pictures of the Abandoned Overseas Railroad & Highway. It has quite a fascinating history and story which you can read HERE.
We also stopped in Marathon.
We got another picture of Sombrero Key Light.
Back on the Seven Mile Bridge towards Miami.
Here we are in Miami, hitting traffic. Yuck!!! We did see Miami CSI though, anyone watch that show? 😀
Next stop was Homestead Air Reserve Base
We were glad that we did the road trip to Key West, but neither of us feel the need to return. It is a party town and too crowded and commercialized for us, but you have to go to say you have been. We are not the party animals we once were, and we're ok with that.
Steve and Yvette came to the motorhome to say goodbye as we will be leaving tomorrow. We have had a nice visit and it was good to see them again after all these years and for Bryan to meet them both.
Tomorrow we start heading toward Orlando, with a stop along the way.
