Spring of 19 - #18 - Universal Studios, Orlando, Day 1

Friday May 17th, 2019
We left Ryan & family to look around the park and go to the T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs, while we  went to Universal Studios.  We have a 4 day pass, it was cheaper than getting a 1 day pass!!!!  I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

The main reason we came here was to go to Harry Potter Land!!!!  So, we made our way there.  Of course, it was at the back of the park.
We have a park to park ticket for Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure.  This is the only way that you can get on the Hogwarts Express via Platform 9 3/4, which takes you between the two parks.  They really know how to get you to go to both parks, which of course costs more.

and the World Expo where we ate lunch later.

We went on the ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.  You are not allowed to take any bags, or carry anything on the ride. There are lockers there to put your things in.  I found the entrance and waiting line more interesting than the actual ride, Ha!!ha!!  Here is a VIDEO of the wait in line for the ride. I actually recorded it on facebook live and I think you might need to be a facebook user but I've set it to public, so try it anyway.

Next we had lunch at a closeby cafe before going to Kings Cross Station, where we were getting on the Hogwarts Express to take us to Hogsmeade and Islands of Adventure.

We got to Platform 9 3/4.  There is even a wall that you appear to walk through!!!

The train ride was good.  Frogs appear/disappear on the windows and English countryside that you go through. Soon, we arrived at Hogsmeade in "Islands of Adventure"

We went on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.  This was my favourite ride.  It is one where you glide/soar over everything and then swoop in.   It feels as though you're really there.

We didn't do this one.

We walked through Jurassic Park and went on the Jurassic Park River Adventure and yes, we did get wet but it wasn't too bad.

and saw Skull Island, Reign of Kong in the distance.

We walked through Toon Lagoon.

and had to get pictures of Beetle Bailey for our grandson Bailey.

We made our way back to the car park, exhausted but happy.

Nearly back at the car, we're in Cat in the Hat car park. Yay!!!

We beat the kids back to Lily and just relaxed.  They came back and we all shared about our days.  

I think we'll all sleep well tonight.
