Moving day and we were heading north to Charlotte, North Carolina and the Camping World Racing Resort.
We packed up and got on the road with no incidents!!! Unfortunately, we hadn't gone far when one of our external compartment doors opened again, and two blocks of wood fell out. We stopped and Bryan went back to retrieve them. So far we have been lucky that nothing has been damaged or caused any damage. Bryan said he will need to look at the locks and see what is happening.
We continued on and as we arrived at the outskirts of Charlotte, the heavens opened up and there was a torrential downpour. Traffic speed was reduced to a crawl as visibility was close to zero at times. It's always a little scary being in the motorhome and towing a car in conditions like these but everything was ok and the rain eventually stopped.
We missed the turning into the campground and when we went to turn around, a gate was closed and we couldn't make the turn back onto the road. When we are towing the car we cannot reverse and so we had to quickly get out of the motorhome and unhook the car to enable Bryan to reverse the motorhome out of the traffic. We blocked two lanes of traffic, very close to the main entrance of Charlotte Motor Speedway, while we were doing this. Fortunately everyone was very understanding and no one blew their horns at us.
Bryan managed to unhook the car in record time and I reversed it out of the way so he could reverse the motorhome and then turn it in the right direction. There was quite a line of traffic and I waited for that to clear before I turned back on the road and followed Bryan to the campground.
I might need to rename this trip to Nascar, Nature and What's Next Tour!!!!
We arrived safely at the campground and checked in. We will be here for a week and hope to visit some of the museums and garages relating to Nascar.
Bryan put the satellite dish up to see if by any miracle it worked. There was a different error message that appeared, asking him to refresh the receiver. He went online and did this and lo and behold it worked. We have all our channels again. So much for Direct TV telling us it was our wiring and the satellite dish. Why didn't they tell us to refresh or even try and do that!!!! Now we're down to just the steps to fix.
Here's a view from our side window. The sites are quite wide, surprising for a speedway park. They usually pack in as many as they can, side by side, with very little space between. Although I guess our experience of that was the infield at Las Vegas and I guess they would try and get as many in the infield as they could. We're very close to the Dragway, expect it to get noisy at the weekend, yay!!!

Bryan got up early as he was going to visit a couple of the museums and they were a good drive from where we were. We decided I would stay at home as there was an entry charge for both of these, and the others we want to go to are free. We have to try and save money as we've had a lot of unexpected expenses this last month and probably have more to come. I am quite happy to miss out a couple of these museums.
Here's his pictures from the Petty Museum.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.
