Summer of 18-#19-Back Home, Visits with Friends, 4th July

Saturday June 30th, 2018

We got everything unpacked and sorted out after our trip and made our way over to J & K's.  They are settling in nicely after their move.  It was J's birthday yesterday, so we had cake to celebrate.

He has set up a blog for his pictures and I helped him out with a couple of things.

We took a picture of the sunset after we got home.

Sunday July 1st - Tuesday July 3rd, 2018

We really didn't do much, rested after our exhausting trip and just usual household stuff.

We watched England in the World Cup, they won their match on penalties.  I heard that Andy Murray has delayed his comeback and will not play at Wimbledon.  I think this is the right choice and look forward to watching him, on the hard courts, in the USA in a month or two.  I still watched Wimbledon, so our television was busy with all the sport taking up our time.  Nascar got squeezed in there as well.

We had some dark clouds and rain but nothing too bad.

Bryan put his flags out in preparation for the 4th.

Wednesday July 4th, 2018

We were invited to J&K's for BBQ and had a great time catching up with all the family.  We were going to go to fireworks with them, but realized that it was a few extra miles away and it would be late before it finished.  We decided to go home and watch fireworks on TV.  Are we getting old or what???  We have to be careful as I don't drive at all now, unless I really have to, and Bryan's eyes don't do well in the dark.  Mine definitely wouldn't either though, so we limit our nighttime driving to pretty much never!!!!  It's a shame because we do miss some things that we would love to do, but we have to  realize our limitations.

On the way home we stopped and took some pictures of their hometown, Lowell.  It's a lovely small town and very community oriented.

The sun was setting as we got to the campground so we took some pictures as we drove in.

We watched The Macy's 4th July parade and fireworks, on TV, and it was very good.

We spent the day getting ready to leave tomorrow.  After he had finished clearing up all the outside and getting bikes put on the car, Bryan went out and took some more pictures of the campground.
Fishing Lake although it was tucked away at the back of the lake and we didn't see anyone using it.
Inflatable Jumping Houses
Play Area

Cabins that can be rented
He went for a drive to the Ionia State Park to take some pictures. This is where he went fishing with Johnny & Kathy last month.
Lake at the park
On the way back he took these pictures of a boarded up house.  There are some great older houses and barns here.

Love this one with the corn growing around it.

We have seen a lot of these orange flowers along the roadsides throughout Michigan and they are really pretty.

Tomorrow we head further north and nearer the coast to see more lighthouses.
