We went to get food shopping at the "local" Walmart, which is not that local!!! That's ok, we had a road trip and got what we needed.
When we got back I decided I needed to backup my laptop. After downloading all the pictures from Niagara and working on those, my hard drive was getting VERY full. I had 18gb left of space, no room to move and making it extremely slow!! I did a manual backup to my portable hard drive, and then as pictures were taking up most of the space, I deleted them from my laptop. Of course this took, ultra careful Sue, longer than it should. I checked and double checked that the pictures I was about to delete were able to be resurrected from the portable hard drive, if I needed them!! I created 78gb of space on my laptop by doing this!!! ๐ฎ
I was feeling pleased with myself and decided I would also clean up the files on my laptop. Something I hadn't done for a few years!!!! I have just been backing up the same mess year after year, oops!!! This was a major project, if not a slow one, and I was feeling quite proud of myself. Unfortunately, I think my laptop got fed up with the constant clicking and dragging of folders, and my mousepad started to "misbehave" ๐ฌ. It just wouldn't let me use it, and it kept moving randomly across the screen. There was no controlling it, worse than a naughty child!!!!๐ก
Those who know me can imagine my mood changing instantly!! I was helpless with no laptop, what could I do?? Out came the phone, and my Amazon Fire, so I could search for help to fix it.
Bryan was also helping by looking on his laptop, he knows where his priorities are. Happy Wife leads to a Happy Life, right!! Poor guy, he had to listen to a hysterical wife, as she tried everything to get the mouse working. Wasn't happening. He started to research new laptops, as it seemed that would be the only option. Noooooo, can't afford a new laptop especially an Apple one, which is my want these days!!!
Suddenly out of the doom and gloom, Bryan had an inspirational idea. Yes, you heard that right. I give him all the credit. ๐ Maybe a manual mouse would work? It was a light bulb moment that we probably should have thought of immediately, but didn't. I have never used a manual mouse on a laptop, so that's my excuse!!
Now, there was frustration as we had just been to Walmart, which is not nearby, and could have got a new mouse there. We didn't have a spare one. I used Bryan's one to see if it would work, and it seemed that it would. I would have to get used to it, but a new mouse is a lot cheaper than a new laptop after all!!
As it was nearly midnight by this time, we agreed we would make a road trip tomorrow to get a new mouse, and hope and pray that it worked.

Top priority for today was a new mouse!!! Of we went to Walmart and success. A new mouse and mousepad with a picture of a pug!!! This better work. On the way home, the heavens opened up in front of us.
We got home and the mouse appeared to work. It took me a little while to figure it out. It was a bit frustrating, so instead of doing what I wanted to do and completing cleaning out my files and folders, I went back to just regular things, reading news, blogs and Facebook. This worked out much better, as it gave me a chance to get used to the mouse. Yep, I think this will work. Let's hope it lasts.
Sunday July 22nd, 2018 - Tuesday July 24th, 2018
The next few days we did normal maintenance stuff around the house and I got used to the mouse. So far, so good.
On the 24th the RV repair guy came out and confirmed that we needed a new circuit board for the washing machine and motor for the awning. He told us he would arrange for the approval from the warranty, order the parts, and be able to get it done before we left next month. Yay!! We're getting somewhere.
Tomorrow we are going to another lighthouse!!!
