After staying in yesterday, we had another two lighthouses to visit today.
The scenery today was lovely, so as well as lighthouses, we'll give you some pictures that aren't lighthouses for a change!!!
Stony Lake
There was a special area marked off for paddling/swimming at Stony Lake.
The first lighthouse was Little Sable Pointe Lighthouse. This is one of four lighthouses run by the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association. The entrance to these lighthouses costs $5 each but they have a pass for the four lighthouses for $15. We had purchased the pass when we visited White River Lighthouse a couple of days ago. We plan on visiting all four but the other two won't be until we move to the next campground.

There was a lady at the bottom, coordinating how many people were going up the lighthouse and she told us we might want to wait a few minutes as a scout group had just gone up. We sat and talked with her and the time passed by quickly. One of the scouts came down as he had got to the first landing up but couldn't do anymore because he had a fear of heights. At least he had tried. He was very talkative and told us he was going into the Air Force and proceeded to ask Bryan what he did when he was in. It's great the conversations that you can have with people that you've just met that come out of nowhere.
We headed up to the top, entrusted with a walkie talkie for the lady up there. As usual there were some awesome views.
This lady was painting, presumably the lighthouse. She had found a nice sheltered place on the dunes below.
Our feet were 92ft. up from the ground. We haven't seen this before and it was a nice touch.
As we were about to go down a gentleman asked Bryan what service he had been in. He had been Navy and they got chatting. Their feet were 92 feet above the ground, but they were oblivious to everything around them for those moments where they shared their stories. This has been a good place for meeting people and having some interesting discussions.

Silver Lake State Park
Bitchin' Betty, our GPS, has been taking us down dirt roads a few times lately. This is despite us having her programmed for NO dirt roads. I think she just wants us to see more countryside. Tilly Toad, our car, is not amused though!!
We reached the second light for the day at Pentwater Harbor in Mears State Park.
Pentwater Pier Lighthouse is at the end of Pentwater Pier.
Pentwater Harborlight is the other navigation structure at Pentwater, on the opposite side of the channel that allows the Pentwater River to flow into Lake Michigan.
These baby ducks were being watched carefully by their mother as they swam in the channel, and got up onto a rock for a short rest.
We watched as they got off the rock and swam up river slowly.
Here's the beach at Pentwater. Swimming conditions are good today and the water is 70 degrees.
On the way home I took a picture of this antique shop in Pentwater.
Tomorrow, we head further north to Benzonia. We will miss this campground and area, but we have much more to see in this summer adventure.
